This is the Resident Evil I fell in love with. Awful acting, cheesy dialogue, generic setting… It was B Horror Movie: The Game. I like the new stuff alright, but they definitely left behind what attracted me to the series originally. I feel like they left a void that needs to be filled. Illbleed went full force into Troma territory (and it resides in my heart for that), but there’s a space in between for naive cheesy-but-fun mediocrity; a serious attempt lacking in self-awareness that fails to meet its lofty goal and ends up being unintentionally funny in its failure.

Biohazard Gun Survivor 4 (2003), known as Resident Evil: Dead Aim in the west. As expected, Toshiaki “Shinkiro” Mori did some beautiful work.
